Monday marys

who we are

Monday Marys began as a women's Bible study under the direction of Martha Jorden, wife of Pastor Paul Jorden at White Mountain Bible Church circa 1995. Spectacular Saturday was begun circa 2000 to provide fellowship for the women of the White Mountains.  Martha's mentorship continued even after she and Paul moved on to new callings.  The Bible study group continued to meet in various locations around Show Low and used the guidelines Martha had provided and which are the basis for the current guidelines.  In 2015, the group adopted the name "Monday Marys" and elected an administrative team of six women from various churches.  Meetings are held in the Cornerstone Community Church Office.  The group is governed by a set of guidelines established under the current leadership team.

The year at a glance

Jen Wilkin

Sometimes we ask What is God’s will for my life? when we should really be asking Who should I be? The Bible has an answer: Be like the very image of God.

By exploring ten characteristics of who God is―holy, loving, just, good, merciful, gracious, faithful, patient, truthful, and wise―this book helps us understand who God intends for us to be. Through Christ, the perfect reflection of the image of God, we will discover how God’s own attributes impact how we live, leading to freedom and purpose as we follow his will and are conformed to his image.

Book is 176 pages.

Chapters are short with key scriptures, 4 study questions and a prayer at the end.

No video.  Ten pages or so of reading per week.

We will break for Easter Monday.

Another 6 week class to be chosen will complete the summer.

abigail

Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth

In this six-week Bible study, journey along with Abigail as she uses her influence in two men's lives—with different results. See how the empowerment of the Holy Spirit can help you deal with difficult people . . . without becoming difficult yourself!

With Scripture memory, daily study, and group discussion questions, this resource is ideal for both individual and group study.

God is self-existent, self-sufficient, eternal, immutable, omnipresent, omniscient, omnipotent, sovereign, infinite, and incomprehensible.

We're not.

And that's a good thing.

Our limitations are by design. We were never meant to be God. But at the root of every sin is our rebellious desire to possess attributes that belong to God alone. Calling us to embrace our limits as a means of glorifying God's limitless power, Jen Wilkin invites us to celebrate the freedom that comes when we rest in letting God be God.

This study is a nice bookend to the spring study by the same author and following the same format.
